If you have ever stayed in a hotel, gone to a coffee shop or attended a big event, you will have seen the hard work of hospitality staff. It is a big sector with loads of different job types, but if you like making great experiences for people, hospitality is for you. 

The Hospitality Academy is a ten-week programme for 16 – 25-year-olds combining qualifications, skills, and practical experiences to start your journey into one of the most exciting and fast-paced industries out there. You will start with workshop sessions to learn more, and then begin a work placement to get experience in the sector.

Have your say about LGBTQ+ equality across Greater Manchester (GM)!
 
The GM LGBTQ+ Advisory Panel is one of seven panels established by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), and aims to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people across the city region by putting our communities at the heart of decision-making in Greater Manchester. LGBT Foundation is currently looking for passionate individuals with links to local LGBTQ+ communities to join the Panel on a voluntary basis. You are also invited to fill in a survey about your priorities as an LGBTQ+ person, which will shape the Panel’s work over the next year.
 
They particularly encourage applications from trans and non-binary people; LGBTQ+ women, people of colour (poc), and disabled people; and others with lived experience of multiple marginalisation to ensure that the Panel is representative of diverse LGBTQ+ communities across Greater Manchester.

What is your sleep schedule like?

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted many people’s sleep patterns, but it’s critical to keep a regular sleep schedule and get about eight hours of sleep a night.

Tips to help you sleep more regularly 

• Set regular times to sleep that work around your schedule, most adults require 6 – 9 hours of sleep. 
• Wind down to help you prepare to sleep. E.g. have a warm bath, plan the next day the night before so you are less distracted. 
• Play relaxing and soothing music that helps you to release stress and ease your body, soul, and mind. (National Health Service NHS, 2019)
